|NARESUAN UNIVERSITY in Phitsanulok is among the Top 300 universities in Asia.|
BANGKOK, THAILAND. Eleven leading universities of Thailand made it to the list of 300 top universities in Asia this year according to the QS University Rankings Asia 2015 released on Tuesday, September 15.
In the list, three universities are among the top 100: Mahidol University in the 44th rank with 72.6 average rate; Chulalongkorn University in the 53rd spot earning an average rate of 67.8 and Chiang Mai University at 99th place with 52.9 average rate.
Thammasat University landed in 143 while Kasetsart University, Khon Kaen University and King Mongkut's University of Technology in Thonburi placed in 171-180.
Prince of Songkhla University is in 191-200 while Burapha University, Naresuan University, and Srinakharinwirot University landed in 251-300.
When it comes to Academic reputation, one of the indicators of the rankings, these are the ranks:
- Chulalongkorn University - 20
- Mahidol University - 44
- Chiang Mai University - 66
- Thammasat University - 60
- Kasetsart University - 201+
- Khon Kaen University - 201+
- King Mongkut's University of Technology, Thonburi - 201+
- Prince of Songkhla University - 201+
- Burapha University - 201+
- Naresuan University - 201+
- Srinakharinwirot University -201+
Nine indicators are used to come up with with a meaningful comparison according to QS. The criteria are as follows: Academic reputation (30%); Employer reputation (10%); Faculty/student ratio (20%); Citations per paper (15%); Papers per faculty (15%); Proportion of international faculty (2.5%) and proportion of international students (2.5%) and; Proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5%) and proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5%).
The National University of Singapore (NUS) is on top of the list with 100% average rate.
