MANILA, PHILIPPINES. The Philippines is third among the world's top 10 English-speaking countries, according to Maps of the World

With 92.58% of its population who speaks English at around 89,800,000 in total number, Philippines is tailing behind the USA with 251,388, 301 speakers (95.81%) at the first spot and India at the 2nd rank with 125,226,449 speakers (11.38%).

Behind The Philippines is Nigeria with a total English speakers of 79,000,000 or 53.34% of its population on the 4th spot. The United Kingdom is on the 5th place with 59,600,000 (97.74%) followed by Germany on the 6th spot with 46,272,504 speakers (56%). 

Meanwhile, Canada,which has a total number of 25,246,220 (85.18%) English speakers landed on the 7th place, followed by France with 23,000,000 speakers (36%) on the 8th place then Australia on the 9th place with 17,357,833 speakers (97.03%). Italy is on the 10th place with 29% of its population who can speak English at a total number of 17,000,000.

In a separate list by PEI MAG published on March 24, 2015, The Philippines only ranked 6th  in the list of Top 10 English Speaking Countries.

English remains to be the official business language in the Philippines and is part of the Philippine education curriculum from primary to tertiary levels. 

Although there are evident differences in pronunciation and diction, 'Philippine English' traditionally follows the American English spelling and grammar except when it comes to punctuation as well as date notations.
