CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES. Billboards promoting the concert of TV host Vice Ganda in Cebu were taken down on Monday, July 6, after local concert organizers received orders from authorities because of 'indecency'.
The chairman of the Cebu City Anti-Indecency Board Lucelle Mercado gave the order for the removal of the billboards that show Vice Ganda wearing a sexy red gown surrounded by topless, muscled men.
Mercado told Cebu Daily News the photo is sexually suggestive.
"It's sexually suggestive. The board hasn't met yet about it but as chairman of CCAIB, I already took action. We don't want to just wait since there are already a lot of people who've seen that," she said.
The show which is scheduled on July 19, Sunday, at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is dubbed "Vice Gandang Ganda sa Sarili sa Cebu (Eh di Wow!)
It was reported that the organizers have not yet decided whether to replace the billboard since the concert day is drawing near and new promotional billboard would take additional expenses on their part.
According to City Ordinance No. 1408, which is the revised Ordinance creating the Cebu City Anti-Indecency Board which shall pass upon the exhibition, printing, circulation, or sale of obscene pictures, film, books, or publications, stage shows and skits in the City of Cebu, the organizers will be fined 5,000 per billboard if they don't take them down by Tuesday.
