DUMAGUETE, PHILIPPINES. Pinoy talent is in the spotlight once again as the Philippine contingent to the 2015 International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Cultural Dance Festival bagged the grand prize in Jeonju, South Korea.

Kahayag Dance Company from Dumaguete City represented the country in the contest on July 3 and bagged the grand title with a $5,000 cash prize.

Composed of 27 members including its artistic director, the dance company competed against seven other teams from the seven participating countries.

"It is always a great opportunity and responsibility to represent our country especially in a form which we are truly passionate of," the group told Bulletin Entertainment. "We feel the fulfillment of being able to successfully represent our country well and got the major bonus of bagging the Grand Prize."

The group added that they feel blessed to have the chance to share the vibrant and colorful culture of the Philippines in the world stage.

Drawing inspiration from the colorful summer of the Philippines, the Kahayag Dance Company performed a free interpretation of the song 'Tag-araw' ABS CBN's Summer I.D for 2012.

The other winners in the contest include: Fiji-gold; South Korea-silver; and Togo/Ghana-bronze.
