MANILA, PHILIPPINES. Long queue at the departure immigration counter caused a total of 29 Cebu Pacific passengers bound for Singapore and Hong Kong to miss their flights at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 earlier today.

ABSCBN News discovered that there were only 8 immigration officers on duty to accommodate the passengers who were already complaining about the slow movement of the queue at the counters as early as 6 a.m.

Normally, there should be two immigration officers per counter but some counters had only one immigration officer on duty rendering 10 passengers to miss Cebu Pacific flight 5J 108 bound for Hong Kong and 19 passengers to miss Cebu Pacific flight 5J813 which was bound for Singapore.

Octavio Lina, NAIA Terminal 3 General Manager told ABS CBN News that they were aware of the immigration manpower shortage and has already repeatedly asked the Bureau of Immigration to increase their personnel. He also advised the public to arrive at the airport 3 hours before check-in.
