PHUKET, THAILAND. Team Philippines exhibited a solid performance and bagged 2 golds and 1 bronze medals ranking 5th in the over-all standing in the Day 1 of the 4th Asian Beach Games that starts today  in Phuket, Thailand. 

Maybelline Masuda and Annie Ramirez staged a back to back victory in Jujitsu Women's Category for 50 kg. and 60kg. respectively while John Baylon put up a fighting stand in Jujitsu Men's  80 kg. Category and clinched Bronze. 

Spearheaded by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the Asian Beach Games serves as a ground where people meet for fun and sports while communing with nature and the environment. 

Here's the summary of rankings as Asian Beach Games as of November 14:


Around 45 countries came to participate in more than 30 sporting events in 6 different venues in Phuket. 

The triumphant athletes were awarded earlier today by the president of Asian Council of Asia (OCA), Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah with the Tourism and Sports Minister of Thailand, Mr. Korbkarn Wattananvrangkul.
